AE’s School photography competition celebrates the best of Alderney

21 May 2026 | News

Students at St Anne’s School recently took part in a photography competition organised by Alderney Electricity, celebrating the theme of the “Best of Alderney”.

Pupils were invited to capture images inspired by the island’s landscapes, nature and relationship with energy. The competition attracted a strong range of entries, showcasing both creativity and a real appreciation for the island environment.

Prizes were awarded across three categories:

Landscape

Florence Jenkins

Energy

Fraser Samson-Hartell

Nature

Teddy Errington

Winner

The overall winner was Grace Chapman, whose photograph will feature on the homepage of Alderney Electricity’s new website when it launches later this year.

The winners were presented with their prizes during a school assembly, with photographs taken during the prize-giving event. The judges included AE staff and the team at Rubber Duckers, a creative agency working with AE on their new website.

Lisa Millan, Administration and People Manager at Alderney Electricity, said:

“We were so impressed with the standard of entries in the competition, and picking winners was no easy task. It’s clear we have many budding photographers on the island, and our environment really inspires them.”

We would like to thank all the students who entered the competition, along with the staff and families who supported them. We look forward to featuring more of the entries on the website over the coming months.
