Our team

Proud to serve Alderney

A small team with a big task: keeping the population of Alderney powered.
Our close-knit workforce combines technical expertise, local knowledge and a strong sense of responsibility to the island community we serve.

Who we are

A local team with deep roots

From maintaining the power station and electricity network, to supporting customers, delivering fuel supplies and responding during severe weather, our work covers many different roles across the island's energy system.

Mechanics, engineers, electricians, linesmen, fuel operators, welders, customer support staff and management all play an important part in delivering a reliable service every day.

Because we live and work on the island ourselves, we understand how important that reliability is to homes, businesses and public services across Alderney.

Looking ahead

Planning carefully for Alderney’s future

We are conducting a wide programme of work to strengthen the foundations of Alderney's electricity system and build self-sufficiency for the island. This requires us to upgrade high and low voltage powerlines, improve our generating infrastructure, modernise tariffs, introduce smart meters and network analytics, and enable the network to accept renewable energy.

These changes are designed to ensure the system remains safe, reliable and financially sustainable as energy technology evolves.

Looking ahead

Supporting Alderney's future

Alongside maintaining the existing system, our team is helping prepare for the future of energy on Alderney. This includes developing renewable energy projects, modernising infrastructure, improving customer services, supporting training and apprenticeships, and building the skills needed for the island's long-term energy transition.

Our approach is practical and long term. We aim to combine traditional island resilience with modern engineering and careful planning for the future.

Our people

Investing in people

We believe good service starts with good people. That means creating an environment where staff feel supported, valued and able to develop their skills over time.

Training, professional development, health and safety, and wellbeing are all important parts of how we work. By investing in our team, we strengthen our ability to deliver safe, reliable and high-quality services for the island.
